Infinite Possibilities Days 5 & 6

On Day 5 of the 30 day Infinite Possibilities ‘challenge’, we had to envision a typical day in our dream life.

I always find this quite difficult because my ideal life shifts and morphs all the time. I decided to go with the one that puts me here:

Talland Bay house for sale

Please note, this was written quickly as a 10 minute exercise. It is not great writing!

A day in my ideal life.

I wake at 7am. If it’s summer, I get up, shower, get dressed, have a coffee and take the dogs down to the beach for a pre-breakfast run. I breathe in that fresh sea air. My feet make that lovely crunchy sound in the gravelly sand. The waves are breaking just enough to give the dogs some fun. The Labs are running in circles and the Shorkies are scooting around randomly like little wind-up toys. I walk back up the steep path to the house, my heart is pounding with the effort and I feel great.

8am I feed the dogs, have another coffee and check my schedule. Our lovely housekeeper will be here at 9am. She has everything in hand so I don’t have to think about dinner or cleaning or anything today. I have a meeting with a writing pal later. We are working on similar projects so it’s useful to share our progress.

R. comes in from walking his flatcoat retriever, Benjy. He’d have walked all the dogs but he knows I love my beach in the mornings. He’s looking really fit these days. The sea air and long walks are doing him good. He’ll probably go paint or read after he’s made himself something to eat.

I go to my writing room and quickly bang out 1000 words or so. The project is going well and I am ahead of schedule.

I get changed and drive to meet my writing friend in my cute Mini Cooper. We have a light lunch in our favourite coffee/bookstore. It’s a productive and fun couple of hours. As usual, I come away with lots of ideas.

I return home to our beautiful Cornish home. The dogs are in their exercise yard. All is calm and peaceful inside. I sit at my favourite window and take in the view. I am so lucky to be living the life of my dreams. Maybe I’ll pop into my art studio and play with my watercolours. The gift shop in the village sells loads of my handpainted cards. I probably need to get some more to them. Feeling inspired I go out of the house to my stone built studio, with it’s huge glass sliding doors that overlook the bay.
