Infinite Possibilities Days 1 & 2

Did you have a look at Mike Dooley’s Infinite Possibilities 30 Day Project? I decided to do it in conjunction with pulling a card each day.

Day One January 1st

Today’s challenge is to come up with five areas of life to focus on this year. Mine are:

Writing: I did a whole lot of writing last year, mainly for other people and their websites. This year, I want to continue that, and also experiment with some fiction.

Losing weight & getting fitter: Ach.. have gained 2 kilos (4.4 lbs) in the last month and over the holidays. It must go and then some. Longer dog walks and the 5:2 fasting diet is my plan of action.

Continue improving blog/s: This site, of course, and my two art blogs that have been completely neglected.

Improve family relationships: I have teens. I need say no more.

Art play: I get grumpy when I don’t make art. I have a new easel (Christmas gift) set up in a permanent position. All my art supplies are to hand. 10 – 30 minutes a day will keep my spirit happy.

I had a sparkly new deck for Christmas, the Fountain tarot. I haven’t used it yet so this is as good a time as any. My card for the 1st January 2016 is:

The Tower. My goodness. Always a bit of a jolt to see this card. However, I don’t see it as always Fountain Tarot Towernegative. I like the idea of it clearing the decks, highlighting just what is important in life. Often we are overly concerned with the trivialities – work, material goodies, self-indulgence, etc., when really, we should be identifying our true priorities. They might be paying more attention to our nearest and dearest, paying more attention to our inner guidance, understanding that ‘stuff’ is just ‘stuff’ and that money comes and goes and is not the be all and end all.

For me, the Tower signifies a sudden release, a seeming catastrophe that, once dealt with, opens my eyes to a new way of seeing the world and myself. No catastrophes happened – will update if anything significant occurs.

Day Two January 2nd

Today we have to come up with a theme for the year. Mike gives a list of suggestions. Looking at yesterday’s focus points, I have come up with:

“Fun and engaging creativity leading to abundance and new experiences.

Sounds great… as long as that pesky Tower doesn’t get in the way!

Today’s card is the Hermit. My birth card, so quite happy to see it. The Hermit shines a light, Fountain Tarot Hermitsomething I hope to do here on this site. Not only for my readers but to help me as well. Every time I write an article for Tarot Study, I learn more. The tarot has a way of continually showing me that I don’t know as much as I think I do.

The Hermit underlines the need to go within, to be prepared to learn things about oneself, even if they are uncomfortable. The Hermit needs to reconcile his various aspects into a cohesive whole, good and bad, positive and negative.

If I can combine my natural Hermitude tendencies with a certain lightness of touch, I may be able to achieve my theme for the year. Fun…hmmm.
