Easy Tarot Spell to Change Your Perspective

The ability to change your perspective is a valuable skill. Often you need to see all sides of an issue, or to understand another person’s point of view.

We are influenced by our own filters: emotions, needs and past experiences. This means that we blind ourselves from considering situations or viewpoints objectively and dispassionately. Our own clouded thinking prevents us from seeing the big picture.

Acquiring the ability to see past mental blocks helps us become more compassionate towards others and more capable of making decisions with clarity and good judgment.

In the long term, you will benefit from this capacity to assess situations clearly. You will become more financially astute, able to determine whether a relationship is working, and to see yourself from another’s point of view. It will help you in your friendships, relationships and working environment. Your boss is being mean? See that she’s under pressure from her boss. Your best friend has turned ‘cold’. You realize she is worried about something.

You can use this simple tarot spell throughout your life to bring and maintain an all-round perspective. It only uses four to five cards and takes but five minutes to perform. All you need is a tarot deck. If you want to add candles and crystals or other magickal supplies, that’s fine. More important is the ability to ‘tune in’ to a positive feeling when doing the spell – or indeed any magickal work.

Magickal tarot spell – It’s all in the feeling

Take some time to practice this feeling right now. It helps if you think of it as a bloom of love – some people will feel it in their belly, others just under the ribs. Some may feel it in the heart region or in their throat. You might need some words to get it going. Think to yourself, “I feel love expanding within me,” and truly feel a warm glow spreading out from the core of your being. Let your thoughts go. Allow them to enter your mind, but pay no great attention to them. They are not important. It’s the feeling within that is important.

Try to hold the feeling for several minutes. Do this for a day or two until you can get hold of the tail of the feeling of love and call it up whenever you want to. All magick needs strong, positive emotion coupled with intent to work successfully, and this is the best way to cultivate it deliberately.

Tarot spell cards

When you are ready to perform your Changing Perspective Spell, select a tarot deck that you are strongly connected with. Make sure you won’t be disturbed. Your working space should be uncluttered and clean – it can be anywhere you can lay out your cards and leave them for a little while.

Choose a card to represent you. The Fool is always a good one – not because you are a fool, but because he holds all the potential of the universe. He (or she) is life’s perpetual traveler, always trusting, always learning. You may prefer a different card and that’s fine, unless it is one of the three needed for the spell. In which case, you’ll have to select another as your representative.

Place that card face-up. Go through the rest of the deck and remove the Two of Swords, the High Priestess and the Ace of Swords. You may also wish to take out the Sun card.

The Two of Swords is your perspective right now. You can only see things from your own point of view; your life filters are blocking your true vision.

The High Priestess is the transforming card, the inner change that causes the result you want, i.e. a new perspective.

The Ace of Swords is the result: clarity, understanding and the truth revealed.

It’s no coincidence that these cards are very similar to look at. The Two of Swords and High Priestess are almost mirrors of each other – however the first is closed, and the second is receptive. You will move from one to the other to produce the result shown in the Ace. We’re using sword cards because perception is connected to thought and consciousness.

Those cards are all you need, but you could use the Sun card as an overall positive influence as it brings confidence, warmth and all-round good stuff.

Tarot spell to change your perspective

Step 1. Lay your three main cards down before you, face-up. Have the Fool above the Two of Swords.

Step 2. Gaze at the Two of Swords and feel that enclosed, blocked off energy. You’re unable to see, unable to find clarity. Really feel that frustration.
Step 3. Move the Fool card along until it rests above the High Priestess. Let your heart open and deliberately conjure up the feeling of love you’ve been practising over the last few days.

Gaze at the card and allow yourself to become receptive to the change you seek. You don’t have to do, say, or think anything at all. Just fill your being with the transforming feeling of love. Once your whole being is suffused, you might get goose pimples, or you will just know when it is time to move on through the spell; it might feel like a click in your head.

Step 4. Move the Fool to a position above the Ace and allow yourself to imagine clarity hitting you like a bolt of lightning. Don’t worry at all about your thoughts, just feel that flash of truth reverberate through you. Breathe deeply. The main working of the spell is done.

Step 5. (Optional) Place all the cards in a pile, Fool at the bottom, followed by the other three. Place the Sun on the top and leave the pile where you can see it. Should you wish, you can light a small candle, place it on a safe holder or saucer and put it on top of the cards to burn out. After 48 hours or so, return the cards to the deck.

Changing perspective results

You won’t notice an immediate change, but as you go through the next seven days, you will see things from a broader perspective. Perhaps you will consider other people’s point of view. You’ll be less entrenched in your thinking. It’s an ongoing process. Keep tuning in to that love feeling as often as you can, remembering that change on the outside must be preceded by change on the inside.

You may not need to do the spell again, but anytime you feel your thoughts becoming a little ‘murky’, simply repeat the spell. The effects will build, so that you will become the person people turn to when they need advice, or a little common-sense.
Congratulations, you have successfully changed your perspective.
