Tarot Spells — Creating a Tarot Vision Board

Can you use tarot cards to focus energy?

Absolutely. I might not subscribe to the idea that cards Tarot vision board tarot spellsare magical by themselves, however, I do believe that *we* are conduits for energy or, I suppose, magic. Here’s a little story.

Sixteen years ago when my partner and I got together we decided to buy a house together. It was a long-distance relationship so when I became pregnant with our daughter it was time to move things forward. As we were both recovering from previous marriages, neither of us had an awful lot of money. We needed a big enough home for a family of four, plus my older son when he came to stay while at uni. The problem was, we had to find something at the same price that he could sell his small apartment for. The possibility that we would find anything in our meagre price range was remote, to say the least.

My partner tasked me with finding the house as we were to live here, in South Wales, rather than in Devon. He had to keep working in any case until he got a job here.

Inspired by Janina Renee’s “Tarot Spells”,I decided to let my cards help me by creating a tarot-based vision board. I gathered up some images and printed out some agents details of houses that I liked in the area we wanted, regardless of price. I glued these onto a large piece of card. I wrote words and phrases on the card, such as ‘safe garden, semi-rural’ and ‘on a hill’ (there had been several devastating floods in the UK around that time and we were wary of buying a property too close to sea or groundwater levels.

I went through my tarot deck and pulled out several cards that resonated and made me feel like ‘home’.

The cards I used were: The Empress, Ace of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles, Four of Wands and Ten of Cups. Following the directions in “Tarot Spells” I placed them on the board and weighed them down with some pink quartz. Janina’s spell called for four cards to represent the four walls and stability of a happy home, and I liked that idea. However, I wanted another card to represent the family within the four walls, so the Ten of Cups was placed in the centre.

I sat quietly for a while, contemplating each card and its meaning to me in the context of home. Then I spoke these words, as given in the spell…

As I set these patterns of cards
I create patterns of magic.
I call to me a home, a special home,
the house of my dreams.
Channels are open for me.
My ideal house is made ready for me.I find it easily.
I find it at a bargain price.
I am prepared to make happy memories in this home.
I am ready to enjoy many good times in this home.
I make this home a haven of comfort,
serenity, security and joy
For many years to come.
As I will, so it is
and so it shall be.”

As I finished speaking, I lit a candle, placed it on a saucer on top of the Ten of Cups and let it burn out. I put the vision board to one side and left it.

Of course I can’t say for sure that the spell was the catalyst but within a couple of days a small advert for an interesting-sounding property appeared in the local newspaper. It sounded too good to be true with three reception rooms, four bedrooms, or rather three plus an attic conversion, a walled garden, quarter of a mile from the area I’d asked for. It was in a small semi-rural village, set up quite high but not high enough to make walking up steep hills with a buggy necessary (commonplace in hilly South Wales). There was a village shop nearby, a post office, a butchers shop, a hairdressers and even a fish & chip shop.

I took my mother with me to see it and both of us knew, as we walked through the front door, that it would be perfect. It was the first house we’d seen. I made an offer on the spot and it was accepted. £50 less than my partner sold his apartment for.

Oddly, from the attic, we can see the coast of North Devon where my partner lived, an area he loved but we couldn’t afford at that time. We could afford it now, but we prefer it right here.

I kept that vision board, after returning the cards to their deck, and we’re still here. The house is much improved and our kids are nearly grown. We’re starting to get itchy feet, so perhaps it’s time to break out the vision board again.

Do tarot spells work? Yep, I think they can help to raise our energy or vibration to sync with the desired outcome. Focusing intently, feeling it real and then releasing that tension is how we can strengthen our mental and emotional connection to what the writer, Lynn McTaggart calls the ‘zero point field’ and old Wallace D. Wattles called ‘thinking stuff’. In essence the field of energy that is all around and in us — indeed what the whole universe is made of. Many New Age/New Thought writers are convinced that we humans are able to manipulate that energy to bring us the desired results. I do think it has some credence but I’d like to know where my lottery win is!

Really great post ! I have heard of using a single tarot card to focus it’s energy but not an entire vision board.

I love Janina’s Tarot Spells but never thought to try a vision board along with a spell! That’s my next order of business – perfect!
