22 Majors: Tarot Websites You Must Visit

Revelations by Zach WongIf you’re anything like me, you love discovering a really great tarot website. So many times I have gained a new insight or perspective simply by reading other tarotists’ blogs and web pages. I’ve put together a list of my favourites.  I’m sure there are some amazing sites that I have missed so please feel free to add to the list in the comments.

  1. Newbies start here: Joan Bunning’s famous Learn Tarot That’s right where I started, oh.. mumble… mumble years ago. You can download or read online the text of her book “Learning the Tarot“, which is laid out in a brilliant course – I still have my print-out although I bought two copies of her book as well.
  2. Mary K. Greer’s blog examines many tarot-related topics… movies, physics, Pixie (Pamela Coleman) Smith, and Lenormand fortune-telling cards are among recent posts. Always worth a visit to Madam Greer’s place. You never know what you might find.
  3. BiddyTarot is always a favourite of mine. Her book, “Ultimate Guide to Tarot Meanings” is a corker.
  4. I recently discovered Mirth&Reverence’s YouTube video channel. Mirth&Reverence is actually Anni Joseph who runs a FaceBook group called Tarot Together. Her videos are wonderful, especially her series on the Fool.
  5. Tarot Elements is a wonderful treasure trove of tarot knowledge. Catherine has made all her tutorials and tarot education resources available for free.
  6. Aeclectic Tarot has been around as long as I can remember. Fantastic for reviews, images of hundreds of decks and, of course, the forum is a lively place for tarot discussion.
  7. Teresa Reed’s Tarot Lady blog offers lots of useful ideas for aspiring tarot professionals.
  8.  Lunar Cafe has a good selection of useful tarot articles. I can say this with confidence as I wrote many of them 😀
  9.  Read beautifully written posts that just pull you in at Marcia McCord Tarot Reader. Really you can waste hours drawn into Marcia’s universe.
  10.  Talking of alternate universes, here’s Little Red Tarot. Beth Maiden is, in her own words, “a tarot reader and writer based on a little boat in Manchester, UK.” You might be somewhat confused as Manchester is nowhere near a large body of water – it’s a canal boat.
  11. Benebell Wen, author of Holistic Tarot (yes that’s an affiliate link – got to buy dog food this week), has a fulsome blog with lots of comprehensive deck reviews.
  12. Get a free instant reading – one card or five cards – at Infinite Visions Tarot. The reading uses the author’s own gorgeous collage deck which is also available to purchase.
  13. Christine Payne-Tower’s Tarot University Archives is a great resource for those who wish to explore the tarot + kabbalah. Lots of meaty essays to get your teeth into.
  14. Tarot by Hilary is a lovely blog by tarotist Hilary Parry – lots of interesting articles and a very tempting review of the self-published Fountain Tarot. See that? Two for the price of one.
  15. Zach Wong‘s site all about his Revelations Tarot – one of my favourite reading decks. Love how the reversals are built right into the card – perfect for those readings that could be either/or. (Yes that’s another Amazon link – I do have five dogs, count them, go on – 2 Labs, 2 Shorkies and a Dorkie).
  16. Loads of tarot goodness at James Ricklef‘s site. Articles, ‘pithy tarot’, readings, e-books and much more.
  17.  When I’m searching for the meaning of a certain symbol, I often find myself at Tarot Teachings. The knowledgeable Avia Venefica also has another site about symbolism: What’s Your Sign. Both are well worth bookmarking. I adore her articles on LoA.
  18.  Aunty Flo is a fun site. Free readings, tarot card meanings and all kinds of psychic playfulness.
  19. There’s a plethora of articles and links at Tarot – The Royal Road. Well worth a delve around.
  20.  Get free readings at The Glastonbury Tarot. It’s not a huge website but it is the home of another of my favourite decks.
  21. Sacred Texts is another of my go-to resources. It has the full version of A.E. Waite’s Pictorial Key to the Tarot as well as other old manuscripts, and links to  copyright-free images of the Pamela A. RWS deck, scanned by Holly Voley.

0.  A long-time web presence, not updated any more, but Tarot Passages is still a useful place to read in-depth deck reviews – 807 of them! Tarot book reviews – 164 in total.

Hope you find this list useful. It’s taken days to create this post as each one of these sites offers such a wealth of tarot delight and I could not by-pass a single one of them without having a good old rootle around. Anyway – go have fun.
