Tarot Intuition and Women

Deep inside us we know the feelings we need to guide us. Our task is to learn to trust our inner knowing” Sonia Johnson

Sounds a bit cliché that title- Tarot, Women and Intuition! Tarot is of course for everybody, not just women. All beings have intuition but the problem with our current society is that intuition is often educated out of us from an early age. The current rational and scientific mind is given more importance. What happens when a society leans more towards the rational scientific brain? We lose touch with our intuition, out instincts and our deep knowing.

For women this is especially detrimental. We lose our power. We ignore our instincts, our gut feelings and our ‘knowing’. We believe ‘the other’ knows what is best for us. Continue reading

The Tarot Numbers

Tarot numbers are fascinating, don’t you think? As a symbol, a number holds so much information. I’ve been thinking about how the numbers make such a useful and profound framework for the tarot. Once you have grasped a basic understanding of numerology, it makes reading the cards so easy.

The progression of the numbers and how they mirror the human existence ensures that you always know where you are. For example, let’s say you’re trying to make sense of the Five of Cups, all you have to do in your mind is look at the card that isn’t there, the Four of Cups. By doing this, you can almost see how the person arrived at the emotional challenge they find themselves in right now. And where they might be going. Remember that a single tarot card doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so to speak.

Anyway, I was going to write a little blog post about the tarot numbers and I sorta got carried away. The post turned into almost a 3,500 word ramble, so I thought it better to publish it on its own as an article: Tarot Numerology.

Tarot Card Combinations for Money

Financial losses and gains are often reflected in tarot readings, but what tarot card combinations are red flags for money problems? And which ones predict an upturn in the client’s flow of abundance?

I’ve put together some card combinations which point towards financial areas that could present challenges and others that indicate money is on the way. As usual, my advice is to take into account the client’s situation, the question, the cards’ positions and the other cards around them. Remember that one or two cards in a reading may not indicate a financial downfall, or indeed a windfall. It might simply mean that the client should be aware of overspending. Continue reading

Tarot Card Combinations that Show Cheating

Following on from last week’s post about card combinations, I thought I would run a series of posts on what tarot combinations to look out for in various situations. One of the most often asked questions of any tarot reader is, “Is he cheating?”

Mostly I would try to avoid answering directly even if I felt it was a possibility, but there are certain tarot card combinations that scream “Infidelity!” Continue reading

Tarot Card Combinations

One of the most searched for topics on my site is tarot card combinations. Presumably people are searching for definitive meanings given by a combination of two or more cards.

The problem is, given there are 78 cards in a standard tarot deck, there are 6,006 (78×77) possible tarot card combinations – and that’s just pairs. There are 456,456 (78x77x76) triple possibilities. That’s why you don’t see books, websites or tarot combination PDF files that contain all that information. Continue reading

Deviant Moon Tarot Book – Review

If you like the Deviant Moon Tarot cards, you simply must have the book that goes with it. The Deviant Moon Tarot Book ensures that the deck comes alive once you read the commentary within. I had so many a-ha moments as I read the descriptions and meanings – it was as if my crazy, moon-filled delusions about the deck fell away and suddenly the cards make a whole lot more sense.

Tarot Card Readers: How to Choose One

You’ve probably noticed that the internet is home to thousands of tarot card readers and psychics. It’s a natural environment for us. We thrive among the pixels. Let’s say you have a burning question you need answered. You’ve tried picking a few cards for yourself but you just can’t get a-hold of even the tail of an answer. You decide that you need help. What do you do?

You could phone a friend. Have you someone you can trust implicitly to give you the advice you need. Will she simply offer empathy and comfort? Which is nice, of course, but you still need to get your problem resolved. Your mother? Nope. There’s no way you can share *this one* with your mother. Continue reading

Tarot Mind-Mapping

Tarot mind-mapping: have been thinking about linking up my love of mind-mapping with tarot. They seem to make perfect bedfellows.

tarot mind-mapping I’m sure you already know what mind-mapping, also called clustering, is. Basically, you have a central idea. Radiating out from it are the important associations and then after that, you add thoughts and ideas that occur to you as you wander around the map.

I use them all the time when brainstorming for ideas but I haven’t ever used a  mind-map for a tarot reading before.

Sooo… I’ve written a full article complete with huge tarot mind-mapping images. Rather than put it on the blog, I though it would be better as a stand-alone as it will probably take a bit of time to load, depending on your connection.

I looked at using mind-maps to study tarot one card at a time and I also carried out a real life reading (which I have to go and type up properly right now.

Go see: Mind-Map the Tarot.
