Must I?

Dear self,

Well here we are in 2021. We look amazing for our advanced age! No, just kidding – we look amazing for any age, especially now we’re all those pounds lighter! So svelte, so graceful, so stylish. Healthy and active, are we.

Isn’t it great that we’ve written and published four books. Amazon best sellers too. Who’d have thought we could be so successful. And the fifth already written and due to launch next month. We are the coollest of cool writers.

We so enjoy sitting here on the terrace, watching the sea, and the people over in the bay. It’s so beautiful here, always a light breeze to keep us cool. Shall we wander over to the studio later? Make sure everything’s read for the workshop tomorrow. How wonderful that we managed to get that famous mixed media artist to come and share her knowledge with us. Mind you, how could she resist our charms and this glorious location?

It’s so nice to have the kids back home for the summer. I’m glad they could both make it. Randall’s really looking forward to seeing them.

And all the dogs are still here. MableAble’s grumpy as ever and getting a bit stiff. Chloe’s just the same, as are the little ones. We still call them ‘the puppies’ even though they are six years old now. We have a nice routine of writing, walking, writing, arting, eating, walking, relaxing. In the winter, we skip the second walk and snuggle up to read or watch TV and snooze. Perfect days.

Anyway, that’s it. Just wanted to let you know that everything worked out well. We did make lots of money and won a goodly sum on the lottery as well. Life doesn’t get any better than this.

Instructions from the future, or messages from my future self.

Write your story – stop waiting for the right moment, the right character, the right inspiration Just start, right now.
Buy a lottery ticket every week. Go do it.
Accept help from other members of the family. Delegate.
Tell Mum you love her… she won’t be around forever.
Tell kids and R you love them every day.
Go out more – one day you won’t be able to. Have fun.
Don’t acquire any more animals. Five dogs and four cats is enough for anyone.

I’m still surprised by the number of repeating cards during this 30 day project. Going to dig them all out, lay them down and give them a long hard look.

I’m a procrastinator. I need to start now.

A sense of urgency. I need to start now.

Nor sure. More focused? Determined?

How will this year be different than last year?

Going to start now.

What was your favorite activity and why?

This one because I actually finished it.

Will you use any of the activities you’ve practiced during the rest of the year? If so, which ones?

I already do several of them – appreciation, etc.

Has participating in this project challenged you to face your fears?

Yes. Fear of failing, of not being any good. Going to start now.

What’s the biggest realization you’ve had during the past 30 days?

If I don’t start now, I never will.

How will you continue with your own daily spiritual practice?

Appreciate, focus on the good stuff, let go of the past. Love. Write. Will dive back into some of the activities along the way.

Fountain tarot card: Temperance. What a great card to finish on. Quiet awareness, patience, inner listening. I’ll add that a constant rebalancing of qualities, attributes, ingredients is also necessary. It’s a life-long process.

I have a horrible cold today, so I haven’t put very much thought into the above. I’ll spend a little more time on it when I feel better.
